Theme: Taiwan Lit Spring 2027 issue: Open issue

Guest Editors:
Managing Editor: Chia-rong Wu 吳家榮, Nicolai Volland

This open issue invites essays related to the broader project of Taiwan Lit, an online journal published by the Center for Taiwan Studies at the University of Texas at Austin aimed at enhancing the burgeoning field of Taiwanese literary and cultural studies. We welcome submissions on any topic relating to the journal’s scope, broadly conceived, from any period, and from established and emerging scholars alike. Submissions are welcome in both English and Chinese. Papers submitted to Taiwan Lit undergo peer review, to cultivate high quality work that contributes to intellectual exchanges across geographical boundaries. The editors of Taiwan Lit are committed to working with authors to develop their work and join global conversations at the forefront of the humanities today.

Please send 250-words abstracts to Rebecca Lee at rnlee@utexas.edu. Abstracts should clearly indicate the proposed paper’s topic, delineate the scope and argument of the paper, explain how it contributes to existing scholarship, and detail the paper’s main primary sources or texts. The editors of Taiwan Lit will invite full papers based on their evaluation of abstracts received.

Articles should be based on original research and be approximately 6000-7000 words in English/10,000 Chinese characters in length. For footnotes and bibliography, the MLA style is preferred. Papers received will undergo an anonymous peer review process, and the results will be communicated in a timely fashion.

Please contact the journal editors if you have questions about any of the above. Thank you for your support for Taiwan Lit and the Global Sinosphere.
