Beth Tsai, Ph.D. is the author of Taiwan New Cinema at Film Festivals (2023). She is a contributing author to the New Review of Film and Television Studies, International Journal of Asia Pacific Studies, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, Journal of Asian Cinema, China Perspectives, and Oxford Bibliographies. Her experimental films have been screened locally and internationally, such as the Women with a Movie Camera Festival in New York and the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival in France.

She has recently served as a panelist for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) grants for individual artists, moderated post-screening discussions at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, and been honored with an invitation to speak at the British Film Institute.

She holds a Ph.D. in Cinema and Cultural Studies from Stony Brook University, SUNY, an M.F.A. in Media Study from the University at Buffalo, SUNY, and a B.A. in English from National Central University, Taiwan.
